Abstract
This paper seeks to study the role of libraries in promoting digital literacy in the 21st century. In the 21st century, digital literacy has become a crucial skill for success in education, the workforce, and everyday life. Digital literacy refers to the ability to find, evaluate, use, and create digital information effectively and ethically. Libraries have traditionally been centers for learning and information, and in the digital age, they have an important role to play in promoting digital literacy. Libraries can provide access to digital resources, technology training, and programs that help people develop the skills they need to navigate the digital world effectively and ethically. Furthermore, libraries can act as a bridge between people who have limited access to technology and those who have more advanced skills, helping to reduce the digital divide and promote digital inclusion for all. In this context, this essay explores the various ways in which libraries promote digital literacy in the 21st century. In the 21st century, digital literacy is no longer a nice-to-have skill but has become a necessity for success in almost every area of life. Libraries are uniquely positioned to help bridge the digital divide and ensure that everyone has access to the tools and resources they need to develop their digital literacy skills. By providing access to technology, digital resources, and training programs, libraries can help individuals of all ages and backgrounds to develop the skills they need to navigate the digital world confidently and effectively. As society continues to rely more heavily on digital technologies, the role of libraries in promoting digital literacy will only become more important. In this way, libraries are a vital component of our digital future, providing access and education to all, and promoting digital inclusion for everyone. This study is based on secondary sources of data such as articles, journals, websites, research papers, and others sources.
