Abstract

Katayama Tetsu served for 292 days as Prime Minister.  He was the first socialist to serve in the post, and the last until Murayama Tomiichi took the job in 1994.  Katayama was also a Christian Prime Minister, and in this chapter I trace the influence of his religious faith on his work and thought.
