Abstract

Southeast Asian foreign domestic workers have been working in neighboring middle- and high-income countries. Many are subject to multifaceted abuses exercised by governmental agencies, employers and among others. This article presents different forms of abuses faced by these foreign domestic workers in Hong Kong, Taiwan, Malaysia and Singapore. The article also suggests policies that the governments of host and home countries should implement in order to protect the safety and well-being of those workers.
