Abstract

In March 2018, the world was rocked by Facebook scandal involving Cambrige analytics and allegation of privacy invasions that numbered in the tens of millions. “Ethics in IT” became a very explosive topic after this. “The greatest good for the greater number of people is considered the utilitarian school of ethics.” With the advancement of technology, IT is facing lots of ethical problems nowadays. Automotive advancement with IT e.g. self driving cars, in them the ethical dilemma of whole life is important, the passenger’s or the pedestrian’s. How the AI should be designed and whose life should the programming protect first? There was a Bollywood movie Robot, in that the robot is asked to rescue people from a building on fire. The Robot saves the life but brings out the girl from bathroom naked. So here comes how AI should do programming for ethics? In terms of our borders area with the neighboring countries; the major concern is for International data, which should be regulated and securely transmitted. The Things on Internet are practically as unregulated as the Wild West; there are less awareness and information about ethics in IT. There is none that has oversight about who has which data and for what means. This paper discusses such ethical cases in details and provides various ‘Ethical Standards’ to be
maintained in IT.
