Abstract

As per the recent report published by WHO, the number of COVID-19 cases surpassed 300,000 globally on 23rd March 2020. ICMR has confirmed more than 500 confirm cases of COVID-19 in India. The nature of the disease is to spread exponentially and till now there is no Proven medicine or vaccine to fight against this pandemic. The situation is critical and alarming, it is very important to know and think about the consequences. The most important factor in preventing the spread of the Virus locally is to empower the citizens with the right information and taking precautions as per the advisories being issued by Ministry of Health & Family Welfare i.e. to maintain social distancing and ensuring safe health and hygiene by using sanitizers and mask. India has a huge population with population density of 1,202 people per m2 on an average and some cities with 2,000 plus density where the chances of spreading COVID-19 becomes easier. In future when there will be less cases of COVID-19 then Government has to withdraw the lockdown and mass gathering in Societies, School, Colleges, Multiplex, Railways, Airport and Bus Terminals will be seen. There will be always a chance of contamination from the carrier to a healthy person, and the chain continues.

All the public places must include Integrated Hand Sterilizer with Alcohol Sanitizers, UV rays and Hand Drier. There is ample evidence that hand antisepsis reduces the transmission of healthcare-associated pathogens and the incidence of HCAI. Hand hygiene recommendations are critical to reducing colonization and infection of the hands of all people, and specifically the hands of health-care workers (HCW).

Note: Funding information: No funding has been used for developing the proposed scheme.
