Effects of Concentrated Language Encounter Method in Developing Oracy Skills Among Primary School Pupils in Obudu L.G.A. of Cross River State

Abstract

This study was carried out to determined the effects of concentrated language encounter method in developing oracy skills among primary school pupils in Obudu Local Government Area of Cross River State. Two research questions were formulated to guide the study Literature review was carried out according to the variables of the study. Quasi-Experimental design was adopted for the study. A sampled of 60 peoples comprising 30 pupils each for experimental and control group was used for the study. The instrument used in data collection was oracy test which was validated by the supervisor who vetted the items. The result of the findings reveals that, pupils exposed to concentrated language encounter method performed better in both listening and speaking skills than those were not exposed to it.

Based on the findings of the study conclusion, recommendations and suggestion were made.
