Abstract
This study investigated the impact of intellectual disability on family income of children with intellectual disability in Calabar South Local Government Area of Cross River State, Nigeria. The research design adopted for this study was Ex Post Facto design with all available parents of children with intellectual disability in Calabar South were purposively used as study sample. Four research questions were developed for the purpose of this study. Questionnaire was the instrument used for data collection. Data were analyzed using mean, frequency count and simple percentage. The result showed that intellectual disability significantly affects the income of families of children with intellectual disability adversely in Calabar South Local Government Area of Cross River State based on the finding of the study, it was recommended that governments, individual should help reduce the stress associated with taking care of children with intellectual disability.
