Abstract

This paper reviews the current decline of global liberal order as well as the thesis of the 'end of IR theory'. It suggests that the decline of global order is largely due to the recall of subjectivity and temporality of practical components of the political sphere. Instead of arguing, there is a need of a revival of IR theory in the theoretical discussion on the epistemological level, this paper instead shows the possibility of arranging a wide range of analytical philosophy, sociology, anthropology, literature and international relations update with the case study of the decline of liberal international order. Case studies include the broken international refugee regime, rise of populists parties in East Europe, populism in Trumpism and declining social capital, Strategic backlash of human rights regime, Arab Spring and its change in the constitution as non-US style liberalization process, Polarization of partisan election of US, the Iraq war and its diplomatic discourse as well as the fall of the think tank on the popularity of liberal internationalism.
