Abstract

Advertising is as old as human civilization itself. Advertising is almost everywhere and Television is a major part of children’s lives in urban Nepal today. Impact of advertising on Nepalese children is not only important but also sensitive issue for the family, society as well as advertisers. Advertisers are focusing and trying to inform and persuade Nepalese children by designing children-friendly commercials which are considerably attractive and persuasive enough for children’s emotional attachment with advertised the product. This study explores the opinion of matured family members to come up with practical insights of advertising impacts on Nepalese children. It also investigates the perceptions towards Nepalese children’s television viewing habits to examine the impacts of advertising on children.
