Abstract
The impact of COVID 19 on bail application and release from prison in Nigeria and the need to safeguard fundamental rights of persons. The negative impact of COVID 19 can be curbed through granting of bail to detainees, exercise of the powers of the Chief Justice of Nigeria and Chief Judges of states and the exercise of prerogative of mercy to convicted persons.
