Abstract

Wu et al., (2020) used a susceptible-exposed-infectious-recovered metapopulation model to estimate that 75815 individuals have been infected in Wuhan as of Jan 25, 2020. In this correspondence, I use a statistical model to show that the average infection population in Wuhan is 153,177 persons, with 95% confidence level to say that the upper bound and low bound of infection populations are 227,709 and 78,645 persons, respectively.
