Abstract
In This paper performance analysis of bridge and bridgeless based converter is described for the power quality improvement. In this paper, these types of converters are used in mainly for Switched Mode Power Supply (SMPS). Conventional converters which have diode bridge rectifiers gives more harmonics in input ac current and hence degrades the power factor. To resolve the power quality related problem of without bridge buck-boost SEPIC SMPS proposed. On the place of four diode only two diode and two switches are used in bridgeless converter so that quality of power enhance .the operation involved here is discontinuous conduction mode. Bridgeless SEPIC -converter based SMPS operate with 1-Φ ac supply. The proposed connection worked in conduction mode of discontinuous which results in increased power factor. The analysis and performance of bridgeless SEPIC type SMPS based rectifier are done at the 220-Vrms input supply voltage and 120-Watt resistive load. The result is analyzed by simulating the proposed circuit in MATLAB/Simulink.
