Abstract

Multilevel inverters are emerging technology in many industrial applications. it is widely used to solve power quality issues. This paper presents a new 7-level asymmetrical inverter with reduced count of switches. This proposed MLI topology requires less count of components compare to conventional MLI topologies and other topology. Proposed topology use asymmetrical configuration, as in asymmetrical configuration the component required less for same level in compared to symmetrical configuration so advantage of this configuration, It reduces the size of circuit as well as complexity and cost. Inverter performance judge by total harmonic distortion. This paper simulated the result for 7-level with level shifted PWM techniques and different modulation index in Matlab /Simulink 2010b software.
