Abstract
Purpose- Enterprise resource planning is a growing concept in the current scenario of globalization and digitization of business activities. The increase in the business functioning to global world has led to the increased use of software to improve business efficiency. The main purpose of the current report is to analyze the role of ERP in improving the quality and accuracy of data gathering and use for business effectiveness.
Methodology- The current research is undertaken by the researcher through the application of qualitative research activity that uses the existing books and articles to gather necessary information and allocate findings to determine true research results and achieve the objective of conducting research activities. The data from the Year 2006-2010 is analyzed to determine true results.
Findings- A majority of the business units have shifted their offline business operations and recording to online methods through the use of software that assists in improving business analytics. The ERP provides reliable and fast information on any business activity. It brings in the necessary standard of coordination among departments through data control and accessibility.
Conclusion- The application of ERP not only is advantageous to organizations but also involves a set of drawbacks in the form of the requirement of training, expert services, handling of information and others that are essential to be considered while implementing ERP services. The advantageous include easy methods of business operations, high reliability of the information, and saving on cost and time of data management.
