Abstract
Inadequate quarantine measures have lead to the invasion of several pests into India's horticultural ecosystems. The paper reviews the pests introduced to horticultural crops in India and their management strategies. The invasive pests included in the discussion are Coffee berry borer, Subabul psyllid, Serpentine leaf miner, Spiraling white-fly, Coconut mite, Silver leaf white-fly and locusts. Invasive alien pests discussed are Fluted scale, Sanjose scale, Potato tuber moth, Woody aphid, Diamond back moth, Green scale, Codling moth and Giant African snail. Control measures such as biological control, habitat management, habitat modification to encourage natural enemies, habitat modifications to reduce the vulnerability of the habitats to invaders and eradication.
