Abstract
In 1990 United nations started an index which is a composite statistic to understand and rank
human development of a country across the world. “ The Human Development Index (HDI) is a
summary measure of average achievement in key dimensions of human development: a long and healthy life, being knowledgeable and have a decent standard of living.” Originally HDI
consists of three variables namely Mean year of schooling, GNI(PPP) and Life expectancy. In
this working paper, we have tried to find the impact and interaction of various other independent
indices to make the understanding of HDI more comprehensive.
