Abstract

The paper is an attempt to study the status of the Muslim women in the context of Indian society, as far as, the suppression of their rights and inferior status in the society are concerned. The paper tries to highlight the various Islamic religious laws that have long been used to subvert the rights of the Muslim women in the pretext of religious freedom.
