A number of articles deal with competition policies on the EU and national levels. They include an introductory statement by Nobel Laureate Joseph E. Stiglitz, an overview of new developments in EU competition policies by Commissioner Mario Monti, an assessment of how to reform Austrian competition policies as well as internal-market related issues. Furthermore, a number of articles are devoted to sectoral regulation in the electricity, railway, postal services, and financial services sector as well as on the regulation of shop-opening hours.
