Abstract
We aim to understand adolescent online risks to develop systems to provide safer online experiences for teens. Thus, we are doing qualitative data analysis on social media datasets to develop risk models qualitatively, then to create rich labeled datasets for training machine learning algorithms. Qualitative analysis of these large datasets is challenging in terms of scoping the dataset, qualitative approach, and utilizing qualitative analysis to create ground truth for training machine learning algorithms. Qualitative Research Methods for the CSCW workshop provides us a good opportunity to discuss these challenges and provide practices to tackle them.
