Abstract
This research which is entitled, “Reassessing the Voice of the Dumagats for Equitable Socio-Economic Opportunities,” aims to re-evaluate the status of the Dumagats situated in Angat
Norzagaray Bulacan on their cry for equitable resources. This was conducted between the months of April to June 2018 using an Ethnographic approach. The interview guide which was a researcher made had been evaluated by some experts in the field of qualitative research, particularly in the area of anthropology.
The researchers had gone onsite to conduct interviews and immerse themselves with the life and culture of the tribes.
This study found out that Dumagats in Norzagaray nowadays developed a better perspective in life. The feeling of being valued emanates from the efforts of the government to reach out and provide the basic needs of the community.
Though the perennial issues which were emphasized by earlier related researches were of course still existing, but this research was able to find out that the Dumagats have finally changed point of view in life and on how they view themselves. They voiced that they have bet-ter access to economic opportunities, they have basic amenities on site, they have voice in the government to lobby for their needs and of course their children receive educational assistance from government and non-government institutions.
There are still a lot of things to be done to help these tribes hence, the informants them-selves provided potential solutions that may help them make their living condition a lot better than today.
