Abstract

In the age of development, governments try to enhance their status among the developed countries through making short-term and long-term policies and executing programs that accomplish those policies. Given that the natural resources, environment, and mines are of the most important elements for the development of a country, and the exploitation of mines is relevant to the environment and natural resources, a meritocratic government tries to accomplish the sustainable development of the country through applying the most efficient means of balancing the affairs of state, the law. Iran has made its internal law in order to accomplish its sustainable development. A perfect example in this regard is the articles of the Constitution pertaining to natural resources or the environment, and Prioritizing the preserving the environment to economic activities. However, the review of some specific laws shows some inherent conflicts. This study was conducted to discuss the causes of the conflicts and the strategies used to resolve the current legal challenges and accomplish sustainable development.
