Abstract

This research has been dedicated to the benefits and effects of sea aquatic exercise therapy (SAET), for various human mental and physical conditions, and the purpose of this study is to promote future sea aquatic exercise therapy, research for the development of implementing this or similar therapy for purposes of mental health and or physical health, as the treatment in combination with or solely for the purposes of, not only to benefit physical health, but as a mental health therapy. This research examines 33 random individual cases with mental and or physical issues, utilizing the effects of the sea environment combined with aquatic exercise therapy to emphasize the beneficial factors to the mental health and the physical conditions which therefore shall promote rapid declination of pain moreover due to mental health repair, and for the increase of better quality of life. The SF 20 survey was implemented to compare effects, before and after, sea aquatic exercise therapy (SAET). The survey measures health across six domains-physical functioning six questions, role functioning two questions, social functioning one question, mental health five questions, health perceptions five questions, and pain one question. Scores across each of these domains are reported on a 0% to 100% scale. 100% represents the best score. Raw scores are transferred into percentages. The only exception is the Pain scoring which 0% represents equals no pain. First group shows the preliminary scores taken prior to the initial start of the therapy. The second proceeding group of scores are the results measured after the implementation of the four-week therapy program. Paired t-value calculation and conclusion proves the significant difference before and after the four-week therapy. In addition, a second interview was established for purposes of accumulating details of the participants for purposes of recording specific findings related to the benefits of change implemented with this therapy.
