Abstract

The QoG Standard data-set is our largest data-set. It consists of approximately 2500 variables from more than 100 data sources.

In the QoG Standard CS data-set, data from and around 2012 is included. Data from 2012 is prioritized, however, if no data is available for a country for 2012, data for 2013 is included. If no data exists for 2013, data for 2011 is included, and so on up to a maximum of +/- 3 years.

In the QoG Standard TS data-set, data from 1946 to 2015 is included and the unit of analysis is country-year (e.g. Sweden-1946, Sweden-1947 and so on).

In the code-book you can find a description of all data sources and variables. We provide a list of the variables categorized into eighteen thematic topics. Detailed descriptions of all variables are sorted by original data sources. We hope that this will facilitate your search for variables.

In 2009, the QoG Standard Data-set received the Lijphart, Przeworski, Verba Award for Best Data-set by the APSA Comparative Politics Section.
