Abstract
This study makes theoretical contributions by providing a new conceptualization of ESG principles. It traverses diverse discussion spaces by comprehensively exploring the prism of changes in the institutional sphere for alignment with sustainable development goals; raising the perspective of ESG (environmental, social, and governance) precepts in the context of common-sense best practices that guide the technological sphere; configuring the association of influence of sustainable development goals and ESG premises in the economic sphere; and, finally, emphasizing that companies operating under a high level of ESG engagement should evolve, obtaining superior economic-financial performance compared to their sector peers who have a low level of ESG commitment. Under these aspects, this study connects ESG principles to the concept of a technoeconomic paradigm in the process of eruption and, in this way, broadens the foundations for the field of debate of economic agents, the scientific field of research, and the academic environment of teaching.
