Metaconversation as a Vehicle of Dominant Logic Formation: The Case of Affirmative Action

Abstract
Our research expands upon the current model of dominant logic theorized by Prahalad and Bettis (1986), to further enhance the understanding of the process by which dominant logic is formed. Academic literature offers little explanation as to the link between the sources of dominant logic and the dominant logic itself. Our conceptual model bridges this gap and suggests that metaconversation is the vehicle through which dominant logic is formed. Our proposition further extends the existing model to encompass the use of the four dimensions of power in the formation of dominant logic. We illustrate with the use of affirmative action programs how metaconversation is the missing link in the formation process
