Abstract

Legal and business knowledge has become valuable intellectual property, access to which often determines entrepreneurial success. As such, our society is clearly bifurcated into “haves” and “haves not” of legal information. Using the informationally-underprivileged Hispanic small business owner as an example, this Article examines the causes of such informational asymmetry in social and economic terms, as well as by highlighting the inner workings of existing contract law. It concludes with a proposal for law and business schools to collaborate in creating multilingual, transactional legal clinics for small business owners.
