Abstract

Comparative law has sought for decades to reach a macro-level grasp of the global panorama of legal systems. Comparative law is and has always been fascinated by the idea of thinking and conceiving law as a representative of larger category of being. Legal family has traditionally been an answer to this basic epistemic urge. The idea of this encyclopedia-entry is to provide basic theoretical dimensions of the concept of 'legal family'.
