Abstract

This study aims to present an informed vision of the Darfur crisis that goes beyond the problematic political analysis that draws the analogy of the blind men and the elephant by examining the visible, tangible facts and, moreover, in order to introduce an approach different from the current tradition. If the purpose of analysis is to achieve understanding and to remove the ambiguity associated with political phenomena, then strategic political analysis goes further to explore future horizons, while confronting the possible consequences of the events and phenomena associated with a particular matter.

On applying this methodology when looking into the issue of Darfur, The aim of this study is to critically explore the Darfur conflict and the future of the region and Sudan from an Arab perspective. The following factors and conjunctions come to focus: As a result, the study seeks to achieve two main objectives: First: Present a holistic perspective about the causes of the conflict in the western region of Sudan; Second: Present the Arab perspective about the future scenarios and the possible solutions to the conflict in Darfur.
