Sin and Forgiveness in the Light of Quran and Bible

Abstract
Forgiveness is an important concept in almost all the religions of the world. This is particularly true of Christianity and Islam. The Bible and the Qu’ran, the basis of the two religions, respectively contain detailed information directly and indirectly on the concept. In spite of the similarity of views in the teachings of the two scriptures on some aspects of the concept, the points of divergence are substantial. Hence, this paper is aimed at examining the points of convergence as well as the points of divergence in the Christian-Muslim views of forgiveness as enshrined in their scriptures.
