Abstract

The article examines the historic origins of pragmatic philosophy and its relationship to law from Pierce, James, and Dewey to Richard Rorty. It argues that despite some post-modern claims that this outlook has no moral foundation, its greatest thinker saw at as a means to access important truths of the human condition.
