Abstract

The eighteenth century was the period of considerable expansion of borders of the Russian empire. It was East that influenced this process. The special role of Russia’s advancement in adjacent regions in the 18th century was played by foreign trade. Trade and economic interests induced the Russian merchants to develop new areas and to strengthen their positions in the Asian markets.
