Abstract

Purpose - The study aimed to examine the performance of banking sector in Pakistan during last decade i.e. 2001-2010.

Methodology - In analysing banks’ performance in Pakistan, ratio measures have been used as they remove disparities and bring all banking firms at par. Assets, Profits, Equity, Return On Assets (ROA) and Return On Equity (ROE) are used as indicators to determine the performance. SPSS is used to derive results through carrying out trend analysis. The results are a reflection of the data of seven leading banks of Pakistan.

Research limitations - The study is limited to 7 leading banks though beneficial to banking sector of Pakistan.
