Abstract

Social finance and impact investing are relatively new terms in the banking sector that are still a niche but growing rapidly. In this paper we will explain the meaning of social finance, social banking, impact investment and microfinance. Furthermore we will present examples of successful institutions in this field. At the end of the paper we will give an outlook on the future development and opportunities for banks to integrate the concept into their business.
