Abstract
This document is intended to describe the main features of the academic production of Colombian authors, which is indexed in Scopus. We analyze the figures of the database between January 1960 and April 2012. Analysis of international collaboration allowed us to identify that Colombia has low national knowledge retention, but high import (capture) of foreign knowledge.
