Abstract

Le professeur et Mme Hanke fournissent une analyse perspicace des Pères fondateurs et de leurs écrits. Au lieu de les considérer avec nos visions, biais et préjugés actuels, ils se concentrent sur leur signification essentielle et originelle. Beaucoup seront surpris d’apprendre que le mot « démocratie » n’a été utilisé ni dans la déclaration d’Indépendance, ni dans la Constitution. En effet, les Pères fondateurs redoutaient toute forme de tyrannie, y compris la tyrannie de la majorité. Cet essai doit être lu et médité par tous ceux qui pensent qu’ils ont le droit d’influencer la société.

Professor and Mrs. Hanke provide an incisive perspective on the founding fathers and their writings. Instead of considering them with our current views, bias and prejudice, they concentrate on their own original and essential meaning. Many are surprised to learn that the word "democracy" is used neither in the declaration of independence, nor in the constitution. In fact, the founding fathers feared every form of tyranny, including the tyranny of the majority. This essay must be read and considered by all those who think that they have the right to influence society.
