Abstract

To date, Taba was the nearest point to reach a peace agreement between Israel and the PLO. This paper analyses the major developments that took place between then and December 2012, arguing that both Israel and Palestine bear responsibility for the present situation where the fear of escalating the region into a comprehensive war is very much alive and real. It argues that the way to escape the deadlock is to rely on the Clinton parameters and the Geneva Accord. Both documents lay the foundations for resolving all contentious issues.
