Abstract

The economic down turn in the West and the subsequent global economic slowdown had an adverse impact on the domestic economy as well, which saw a significant decline in fresh investments into infrastructure sector. Major sectors like airport and telecom sector began to show major signs of turbulence for the first time after liberalisation process began. Besides, a series of scandals and scams also impacted on the credibility of the government and pushed the reforms on the back foot. So, how do all these affect infrastructure projects and what is the way forward?
