Abstract
Based on principles of information sharing and equal participation in public life of all parts of society (government, private sector and civil society) in 2002 was created the Romanian e-Government Strategy, aiming to ensure the evolution towards the information society. Ministry of Communications and Information Technology was responsible for the implementation of over 30 e-government pilot projects, some being very successful. In parallel in Spain was created an important instrument for the development of electronic administration in Spain, namely ¨Plan de Emergencia para el desarrollo de la administración electrónica en España¨ prepared by the Ministry of Science and Technology and Ministry of Public Administration in 2003. Highly successful are unified projects of the virtual administration in Spain. In conclusion, the main advantages of using e-government are obvious: the provision of information anytime and anywhere, the ability of individual search and direct exchange of views among users.
