Abstract
This Article explores some of the state and federal laws presently available to investigate and prosecute computer-related crimes. As the legal profession is swept along with the rest of the world by the twin tidal waves of change caused by the Information Technology revolution and the universalization of the Internet, Michigan attorneys, both public and private, have the daunting task of keeping up with the criminal use of high technology and computers. While some changes are necessary to more effectively protect Michigan citizens from the negative impact of this increased computer usage, many of the laws presently in existence provide law enforcement with solid tools for combating computer crime.
