Abstract

This paper is has been published in European Journal of legal Studies (2010 2:3) and is my early analysis of the compatibility of the idea of propertization of personal data with the European law. Its central argument is that Lessig's proposal to introduce property rights in personal data is not consistent with the meaning of property in European law.
