Abstract

Mining is seen as a menace to modern society despite bringing in significant incomes particularly in Australia. But is the media giving the mining industry a fair go? A study of more than 100 media stories about mining suggests that without further support and understanding of how to make communities feel they are being considered mining is forever doomed to be unloved.
