Abstract

At long last, there is a path for Democrats to enjoy good national government and Republicans to simultaneously enjoy smaller national government. No one denies that something went wrong at the Internal Revenue Service; and everyone should understand that fixing it must be accomplished in a way the general public can respect. After months of street-fighting, we should finally accept as a people that the reality here requires moves that are publicly visible and well beyond a series of merely-helpful internal adjustments.
