Abstract

Reviewing Boris Bittker’s 1973 work suggesting reparations for school segregation, the article examines how to use such an approach to attack the “re segregation” of African American children which has taken place since Brown was first decided. The article highlights such practices as tracking, special education mis-classification, and the disparate application of suspension and expulsion to minority students.
