Abstract

Airline companies are classified in very special service providers that for directing & controlling, expert & capable personnel should be employed. Therefore, managers of such companies should have special characteristics for suitable & accurate decision making in special occasions. In this study, the impact of personal characteristics of Iranian airlines managers on the performance of such companies has been surveyed. This paper models performance as a function of five potential variables. Data were gathered from four major airlines in Iran and the period of study is from 1996 to 2010. It appears that strong Iran airlines should be increasing their financial performance with high management experience and non-management experience.
