Abstract
Background: This paper is concerned with mechanical properties and formability of AZ31B magnesium alloy sheets at various temperatures. In order to obtain mechanical properties, tensile tests are conducted under a wide range of temperatures and strain rates, producing stress-strain curves, the strain rate sensitivity, basic plastic properties and anisotropic parameters. The results obtained from this study provide the essential database for CAE simulation, tool and process designs in the sheet metal forming process of magnesium alloy sheets.
