Abstract

The book Empire of Fear: Inside the Islamic State portrays a grim picture of a world at war with disastrous consequences for Iraq in particular and the world in general. This rather well researched book shows us the inherent dichotomies of attempting to foist political ideologies on parts of the world that may not be ready for them. The West’s preoccupation with democracy has caused great upheavals in many parts of the world and this is one such case, which gave rise to a dreaded organization the ISIS or ISIL.
