Abstract

Gender Responsive Budgeting (GRB) is a means of integrating a gender dimension into all steps of the budget process. It is about taking into account the different needs and priorities of both women and men without gender exclusivity. GRB ensures that budgets are gendersensitive and not gender neutral, which means that they are geared towards establishing gender equality. It consists of the use of tools to analyse the gender dimensions of budgets; and adoption of procedures to ensure that the budget supports the achievement of gender equality.
