Antitrust Cases in the Financial Services Sector - An Overview of Seminal Hungarian and EU Cases

Abstract
Article 101 TFEU and Tpvt. 11. § prohibit anti-competitive agreements, concerted practices and decisions of associations of undertakings if they aim or have the effect to restrict, distort or eliminate competition. Our paper, co-written with Botond Horváth, gives an overview of the most important decisions adopted by the EU Commission and the Hungarian Competition Authority of the past five years in Hungary and the EU. After the case summaries we present a brief analysis discussing topics like information exchange, two sided markets, the difference between by object and by effect restrictions of competition.
