Abstract

The use of Indonesian has developed in the community, especially among teenagers. The diversity of languages that develop has its own pattern. Uniquely, the same language patterns sometimes have different meanings. As is the case with the use of the word "deng" by Indonesian Education University (UPI) students at Bumi Siliwangi Campus with UPI students at the Tasikmalaya Regional Campus. Although the words used are the same, the use, meaning, and function of the words used are different. This uniqueness is the basis of this research. The purpose of this research is to analyze and compare how the word "deng" is used by UPI students at Bumi Siliwangi campus with UPI students at Tasikmalaya campus. With a qualitative approach through descriptive methods, this analysis is expected to be able to clearly explain the data analyzed.
