Abstract

In this speech, the author asks whether recent developments in Australia - including proposed revisions the ASX Corporate Governance Principles and Recommendation and the revelations in the ongoing Royal Commission into Misconduct in the Banking, Superannuation and Financial Services Industry - mean that Australian boards of directors must take account of the public interest in corporate decision-making a new way.
